Mobile Web Europe

Nubiq recently attended the Mobile Web Europe event in London last week. This was a jam packed event comprising of industry experts who each contributed to discussions and panel debates on the growth of the mobile Web, current user experiences, and the impact of the future of mobile Web with the launch of the latest smartphones, Apple iphone, and Google Android phone to the market.

What was really interesting was the breadth and depth of knowledge present over the 3 day event. I was surprised by the rapid changing face and diversity of companies entering this space, each presenting bigger and better solutions to drive the growth of the mobile Web amongst consumers – all very positive, and all very exciting!

Nubiq’s core business proposition was reinforced at the event by being nominated for the I love Mobile Web’ Awards. Nubiq was nominated in three categories for the Mobile Food Circle directory service. Nubiq’s white label directory service offering for key partners will no doubt go from strength to strength in the future as the demand for directory and location-based services accessible on the mobile increases.

I was lucky enough to receive my personalised signed copy of the ‘Mobile Internet for Dummies’ handbook, written by authors Michael Becker, EVP, Business Development, iLoop Mobile Inc, USA, who is also an active member of Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and Michael J. O’Farrell, vice chairman of Ooober and chair of the dotMobi advisory group. You can imagine the envious looks I got when I returned to the office brandishing my personalised copy! The mobile internet is a continuous journey, never really reaching a final destination but does provide some interesting sights to see along the way!

Who is using Mobile Web?

Posted in Mobile Web, Zinadoo Mobile Portal on June 13, 2007 by nubiq

So far we have had Zinadoo running since September 2006 and have seen a very interesting uptake in mobile websites. It started off with the early adopters, mostly techies who all liked it but wanted some advanced, cooler features in there. So we started to expand the product and our user base. Now we are seeing uptake all over the world (thank you Google Analytics) but our user base is quite varied. We see a lot of business sites, personal sites, clubs and societies. On the personal sites, it’s not necessarily the social networkers either, I think it’s an older/more mature audience ( not wanting to offend anyone) 🙂

People are using the site to put up information about themselves, their family, their interests and their business. I have to say most of our sites now are small to medium sized business, probably because it’s a free tool with free hosting! So when you consider what people pay for website design and creation, I reckon Zinadoo is a pretty good offering! although we will always accept donations if anyone really wants to put a monetary value on it…
